BakuBuild 2011 Newspaper

The 17th Azerbaijan International Construction Exhibition, BakuBuild 2011, organized by the British ITE Group and its Azerbaijani partner, Iteca Caspian LLC, has started at Baku Expo Centre. The exhibition gathers 317 companies from countries including Azerbaijan, China, Korea, Poland, the UAE, Russia and the USA.

While making his speech at the exhibition’s opening ceremony, Rufat Mammadov, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), highlighted the stable economic development of Azerbaijan and the topicality of international exhibitions promoting an influx of foreign companies and investments into the country. The fact that this event demonstrates a 20 per cent growth on last year testifies to its demand at the international level and its dramatically increased capacity.

Jahangir Gojayev, Head of the International Relations and Information Department of the State Committee for Construction and Architecture of Azerbaijan, noted the importance of the exhibition, which brings together the four areas relating to the solution of many issues relevant to the overall development of the construction industry. The gradual strengthening of the infrastructure of the state and the improvement of the role of construction is illustrated by the need to hold valuable international forums which provide a platform for a wide exchange of information and an inflow of investments into Azerbaijan.

In his speech, Edward Strachan, Executive Director of ITE Group plc, congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the 20th anniversary of the independence of the country, and wished the participants every success in the signing of important business contracts.

The VIP tour which took place after the opening ceremony gave the visitors some idea of the scale and diversity of BakuBuild in its full splendour. The spacious halls accommodate a huge corporate team of builders, designers, manufacturers and entrepreneurs who have come from 26 countries. Alongside the individual stands, the five collective displays from Germany, Italy, Finland, Iran and Portugal are presented.

The exhibition offers the opportunity to plunge into the world of current and future urban development projects, to discover innovative technologies and new solutions in construction, manufacturing and the use and maintenance of building materials.

The versatility of BakuBuild 2011 is due to the fact that everyone can find something here that he needs: for visitors everything is present in the field of construction and repair, and consultations with specialists can be had; for entrepreneurs the exhibition provides the conditions needed to establish cooperation with companies in associated spheres of activity. Of course, there is much interest in the Innovation Zone, where surprises from the world of modern technology and original designs await members of the public and construction professionals alike.

As a rule, it is best that the senior staff of the exhibiting company is available on the stands so that their authoritative opinions and excellent advice can be taken on board by the hundreds of visitors who take a keen interest in the stands. Many people are also attracted by the busy agenda which includes seminars, presentations and master classes.

The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs’ (Employers’) Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic, the Union of Architects and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO).

The 9th Caspian Furniture, Interiors and Design Exhibition, Caspian MebelExpo 2011; the 3rd International Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Water Supply, Sanitation, Technology for Environmental Protection, Swimming Pool and Renewable Energy Exhibition, Aqua-Therm Baku; and the 4th Caspian Protection, Security and Rescue Exhibition, CIPS, are held in parallel with BakuBuild 2011. Thus, the main construction forum for the region is appropriately complemented by a corporate constellation of expositions associated with the development trends in the furniture industry, innovations in the plumbing industry and the latest developments in the security sector.

The exhibitions are open until 22 October.
